SCG T8 Professional Fluid Head and Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs
The SCG tripod is a professional Fluid head for filmmakers, videographers, and solo camera operators. It has adjustable pan, tilt, and counterbalance.
If you’re looking for a professional tripod that compares to a budget version of a Sachtler fluid head, then you are on the right track. I own a professional Sachtler systems which cost around $10,000, and I own Manfrotto tripods that are in the $500-$600 range. This SCG tripod head is more comparable in build and smooth tripod moves to the Sachtler than the Manfrotto. It was actually quite shocking how good the SCG tripod head is. Doing precise movements just wasn’t possible with the Manfrotto 502 head. It gave me the stair stepper effect. Although, this SCG tripod was actually very smooth and precise with both: a light FX3 camera with Auto Focus (OS)lenses, as well as a heavier FX6 camera with non-stablized cinema lenses.

In this video, we are taking out the 'SCG T8 Fluid Head and SteadSolid Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs' for a handful of shoots. There are other tripod head and leg variations available from SCG depending on how heavy your camera rig is. I paired up the T8 with a set of Carbon Fiber legs, which are great for solo camera operators because it cuts down on the weight.
