RayValencia.com is at it again….It was a rainy day in Tampa and we needed something to do…so we decided to make an action film. Jesse Hardee and Thornton Brown starred in this little flick.

It’s the Behind the Scenes footage & commentary for ‘That’s My Parking Space’. The video was shot in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. Starring Jesse Hardee & Thornton Brown.
The song in this video is “ModelX” by Thornton Brown…aka DJ TONETONE.

OK…I feel like I have a solid handful of video projects going. Now, I just need to get it all together and finish them. Issues like conflicting schedules and getting actors & actresses are a major factor with getting these films together. I’m saving up for a brand new DSLR so I can start shooting in top notch HD….this factor alone will enhance everything I create. This video post includes some clips of the videos I’m working on like the facebook comedy with Thornton as well as the flamenco piece of the assassin film with Jesse. Also, I have been accepted into the University of South Florida and planning to start classes this fall. I’m still in the process of getting all my credits transferred and situating which state I’m a resident in (now that I’ve almost lived here for a year now, I am no longer going to be an official resident of Arkansas). The good things about me being in school are that I will be able to access high quality equipment and will finally meet a group of people with similar interests in making films. So I have a feeling things are really about to take off. Stay tuned.

In this video, I am talking about some of the I am using in my action film… with a little surprise at the end. I created this with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere. I shot the video with an HD webcam.

This is the 1st installment of my demo reel for StarStrung Productions (which is my film company in its early stage). The song is from Kid Cudi’s new cd: Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. I decided that it would be fun to do this song because the nature of the song allowed me to play around with a few special effects. I shot it all here in Tampa, FL over the month of January, 2011. I plan on releasing a lot of material over the next year and developing a demo reel for scholarships and job opportunities. I’m just out here 1,000 miles from any of my friends or family so I’m having fun, doing my thing, making new friends, making movies, and enjoying life. Be on the lookout for more videos soon.

I am in the middle of filming a music video. It’s a project for me to play around with editing techniques and besides, practice makes perfect. So, I’m going to start making up random projects while I’m getting my 1 year residency here in Tampa. Christmas is 2 days away and people are still out on the beaches in bathing suits. This is different for me because I am used to Arkansas weather. Believe it or not, it’s actually not that bad being 1,000 miles away from everything and everyone you’ve known in the past. Everyone I meet here came from another place too. It’s like no one is from here, and not many people plan on staying for good. Whereas, in Arkansas it is very likely that you will see 2 people you know nearly everywhere you go…and you’ve known them for 10 years or so. The other day at work, I was looking at my reflection in the window, straightening up my bow tie, and noticed a crew shooting a film right on the street I work on. I know it’s around here, I just need to find out where it’s at. Merry Christmas from Tampa, FL.

I recently moved to Tampa, Florida. I also moved stuff around on the site. I don’t have all of the videos posted up on this main page anymore. They are all under the tabs on the left of the page in both VIDEO VAULT and MY STUDENT PRODUCTIONS. This was simply for the purpose of organization and to speed up page loading time. I’m going to be shooting a short film very soon and I’m taking votes on the RayValencia.com FACEBOOK APP page for which genre you would like to see me write, direct, star in, and edit.
